New Plants Learning Resources for Year 1 pupils

30th May 2024

Living Uplands and Durham Wildlife Trust have developed a new learning resource for Year 1 pupils.

Entitled simply, 'Plant Life' this free scheme of work is a complete schedule of lesson plans and resources to facilitate full delivery of the Year 1 Plants section of the National Curriculum.

The scheme of learning has been specifically designed by educational professionals and botanical experts to offer a comprehensive and adaptable set of easy-to-use lesson resources.

This free resource has been designed to reduce planning and preparation time and to offer a range of practical and hands-on experiences featuring references to plants and trees that are likely to be familiar to both staff and pupils, alongside classroom worksheets and digital presentations.

The pack was developed with the support of renowned local botanist/naturalist Steven Gater who says:

"Plants are all around us. The more we look, the more we see. This resource will help young people to learn about the wonders of plants and inspire them to discover more."

Access is simple - just go to Living Uplands and download the resource pack. There is no fee, and no signing up to anything.
