Gaze to the stars

12th Oct 2023

The North Pennines Stargazing Festival returns with more than 30 events between Friday 20th October and Sunday 5 November.

Many were lucky enough in September to catch the amazing displays of the aurora borealis in the Co. Durham sky.

If you want to learn more about the stars and sky then the North Pennines Stargazing Festival (which took a break because of Covid) is back once again. There are loads of events on the North Pennine webpage. The North Pennines is one of the darkest areas in the country; its dark skies ideal to look into the far distant yonder.

Some events are more down to earth, looking at creatures that roam at night.

Most of the events must be booked in advance. There are so many there is sure to be something that will provide a brilliant place to explore the skies more deeply.
